A Message from Yumi Jibiki
'Le Parfum: A Sensory Journey—Fragrances and Muses That Adorned the Ages' introduces iconic perfumes and timeless muses from 1900 to 2011. Accompanied by beautiful perfume bottle illustrations, the women featured each year range from actresses, adventurers, scientists, aviators, ministers, writers, and singers. Their lives, marked by courageous challenges against what was considered reckless at the time, offer profound inspiration to women today.
Translator Yumi Jibiki shares, "A perfume truly comes alive and finds its purpose when it meets the skin of the person wearing it. And the woman who wears that fragrance vividly expresses the era she lives in. This book, which presents a representative perfume and woman for each year from 1900 to 2011, is a beautiful bridge connecting your life and the world of fragrance. We invite you to discover it for yourself."
