A Gathering of Rare Treasures, Highlighting the Charm of Living Creatures
Ikumi Kato's "Animal Notebook" Exhibition Opens
To commemorate the publication of the photo book "Animal Notebook" (published by Kurashiki Ico), which captures a collection of antique stuffed animals cherished and supported by children, we are holding an exhibition themed around "living creatures" at MUJI BOOKS until Monday, May 23rd.

An Endearing Charm, Evident in Every Trace of Affection
"Animal Notebook" is a volume that highlights the gentle loveliness of stuffed animals, each shaped by the hands of artisans. As we turn the pages, the stuffed animals that appear seem to possess an even greater charm, perhaps because we can see the traces of affection poured into them by their former child owners.
This exhibition also features and sells intriguing items selected by Ikumi Kato, the publisher of Gekko-sha, including coin sets with animal motifs that were used in foreign countries, and cigarette cases that tell of the historical context in which they were sold.
Additionally, there are Atsuko Yukawa's pop-up bird cards, and pincushions and specimen boxes featuring marine life by Nobuko Yuki, among many other rare items that capture the charm of living creatures with a quiet presence.
They might also make wonderful gifts for someone special.
Please come and take a look.
