A Father-Son Performance by Shido Nakamura and Haruki Ogawa. A Dreamlike Space Born from the Collaboration of Tradition and Technology.

"Chō Kabuki" was born in 2016 at "Nico Nico Chōkaigi" as a completely new Kabuki performance that fuses classical Kabuki with cutting-edge technology, featuring a collaboration between Kabuki actor Shido Nakamura and virtual singer Hatsune Miku. This popular "Chō Kabuki," a regular event at "Nico Nico Chōkaigi," will now hold its long-awaited nationwide tour in four cities: Tokyo's Shinbashi Enbujo, Kyoto's Minamiza, Nagoya's Misono-za, and Fukuoka's Hakata-za.
The cast includes Shido Nakamura, Hatsune Miku, Kuniya Sawamura, and Haruki Ogawa, Shido Nakamura's eldest son. The repertoire for the main production features "Chō Kabuki no Mikata," the elegant Kabuki dance "Tsukisenu Haru Kabuki Odori," and the ancient dynastic spectacle "Towa no Hana Homare no Isao." In the limited version, Kuniya Sawamura will perform the role of Konrin Gorō Imakuni in "Towa no Hana Homare no Isao," a role played by Shido Nakamura in the main production.
One of the attractions of "Chō Kabuki" is the immersive experience where the audience participates by waving penlights, creating a unified stage and audience that feels like a live concert. Furthermore, the collaboration between Japan's proud traditional Kabuki and cutting-edge technology, including that developed by NTT, creates an unprecedented dreamlike space, birthing a completely new Kabuki performance.
"Chō Kabuki" offers a fusion of classical Kabuki and advanced technology, promising a new and moving experience. This is an opportunity not to be missed.
