Ben Eine's Latest Work "Objets D'art" Exhibited for Two Days Only in Tokyo

Ben Eine, an artist known for his typography, has collaborated with Fragile Ventures, a London-based company specializing in artists' three-dimensional works. Together, they have created limited-edition 3D cubes that convey Eine's distinctive typographic style. In Japan, these will be exhibited for two days only, December 6th (Sat) and 7th (Sun), at Megumi Ogita Gallery in Ginza.

The Letter "E" Rendered in Three Signature Typographic Styles

Ben Eine is an artist who has primarily showcased his work on the streets of London. His art, featuring single alphabet letters and ironic messages, adorns various surfaces from shop shutters and public walls to renowned museums and galleries.

Eine's work was famously presented to President Obama by then-British Prime Minister Cameron as a gift during his first official visit to the United States. In 2012, he also collaborated with Louis Vuitton on a silk scarf. Alongside Banksy, Eine is a globally recognized artist emerging from the street art scene.

Now, Eine has joined forces with Fragile Ventures, a company established to create three-dimensional representations of artists' works and provide a platform for their global dissemination. This collaboration has launched the project "URBAN[E]". The resulting works have been named "Objets D'art," a French term meaning "art objects" or "works of art," referring to high-quality, meticulously crafted small decorative art pieces.

The "Objets D'art" are 12-centimeter cubic pieces made from concrete, metal, and wood, each featuring one of three of Eine's signature fonts: "Shutter," "Tenderloin," and "Circus," spelling out Eine's initial, "E." One hundred pieces of each design have been produced, each signed by the artist. They are available for purchase at £2,500 (approximately ¥500,000) each on the Fragile Ventures online store starting Friday, December 5th. In Japan, they will be publicly displayed only at Megumi Ogita Gallery on Saturday, December 6th, and Sunday, December 7th.

Eine recalls, "Since childhood, I've loved making and assembling things. Now, as an adult, I've been given the opportunity to create unique, beautiful handmade objects." Fragile Ventures, who had "longed to collaborate with artists they admired," found a perfect match. We invite you to experience Eine's cool and profound typographic world firsthand.
