zazi × Yuki Otani Exhibition "Ao"

The zazi × Yuki Otani Exhibition "Ao," opening November 21st, is a collaboration between zazi (http://coerico.web.fc2.com/), who records daily events through drawings and sashiko and creates clothing, and Yuki Otani.

Yuki Otani shares her thoughts on this exhibition:

"I create works to keep my senses sharp. I feel my sensibility dulls when I spend too much time working on my computer. It was then that I encountered zazi's drawings and clothing made with sashiko, which felt like art pieces."

"I immediately felt I wanted to do something together, and I met her. Everything progressed at an incredibly fast pace leading up to the 'Ao' exhibition. I look forward to creating something new that leverages both of our strengths."

This exhibition will feature collaborative wear and posters made from the fabric of the "Ki Noe" brand and zazi's sashiko, as well as drawings by both artists. Special collaborative products are also planned (clothing sales are undecided).

The Akiko Ando × Yuki Otani Exhibition (Fictional Diary: Yumiko Kikuchi) "Bread by the Bedside - You Sleep with Bread by Your Bedside, Unable to Sleep from Anxiety -," opening December 2nd, is a collaboration between illustrator Akiko Ando, who expresses herself through collages combining her original patterns and unique color palettes, and Yuki Otani.

The exhibition and sale will feature illustrations by Akiko Ando and drawings by Yuki Otani, inspired by a week's worth of fictional diary entries written by Yumiko Kikuchi, who handled the planning, writing, editing, and design. Editioned works created by layering their respective pieces will also be displayed.

All works are in monochrome. The serendipity born from each artist's unfettered sensibilities fills these pieces with a light imagination that instantly transports viewers to a fictional world.

On weekends during the exhibition period, workshops will be held to create reading sets (cover + bookmark) inspired by the artworks, and original merchandise will also be available for purchase.
