An App Offering an Overwhelming Number of Photos and Rich Content
The iPad/iPad mini photo book app "Masahiro Nogami's SNAPSHOT DIARY" meticulously selects works from approximately 15,000 film frames, captured as a "photo diary" since the 1960s.
With the aim of preserving the artists, designers, and creators of Japan's nascent rock scene, such as "Happy End" and "April Fool," with whom Nogami associated during his student days, along with the youth culture and diverse Tokyo landscapes of the time, as a realistic documentary, each photo has been restored and digitized. This app realizes a unique "see, read, and listen" photo archive, something impossible within the traditional framework of print publications.
Photographer Masahiro Nogami's record of his youth serves as a first-class research resource for both old and new music fans, while also offering rich cultural and historical value that authentically conveys the Tokyo culture of that era.
Contents Included
Approximately 4,000 photos, many of which are previously unreleased, are presented in a largely chronological order. This includes numerous photos of "Happy End," "April Fool," "Caramel Mama," YMO, Haruomi Hosono, Eiichi Ohtaki, Takashi Matsumoto, Shigeru Suzuki, Hiro Yanagida, and Tadashi Kosaka, many of which are being published for the first time. Detailed photo explanations and audio commentaries by Masahiro Nogami himself, audio content featuring distinguished guests (conversations and interviews with Masahiro Nogami), and a collection of Masahiro Nogami's essays (reprints of "Happy Days" from Record Collector's Magazine plus new writings).
