The Creative Process Behind Works Merging Art, Architecture, and Nature
Organized by AAF (NPO Art and Architect Festa), which aims to foster the development of art and society through architecture, the "Architecture Lecture Series 217" is a talk session that garners significant support from students and young architects as a platform for stimulating exchange among architects. Each session features architects Ashizawa and Hiranuma, both contemporaries, joined by a distinguished guest architect to explore the possibilities and directions of architecture.
This installment features internationally acclaimed architect Ryue Nishizawa, known for his work on the "Teshima Art Museum" and "Garden & House."

Nishizawa joined Kazuyo Sejima & Associates in 1990 and co-founded SANAA with Sejima in 1995. His representative works include the "21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa" and the "Louvre-Lens," an annex of the Louvre Museum in France. In 1997, he established Ryue Nishizawa Architects, designing projects such as the "Towada Art Center" and the "Teshima Art Museum." His avant-garde designs have garnered numerous awards.
What kind of inspiration gives rise to these architectural works, which can be described as art in themselves? An engaging discussion is anticipated, presented through the perspectives of Ryuji Ashizawa and Takamasa Hiranuma. Participation requires advance registration, with a limit of 380 attendees. Applications are currently being accepted via the website.
