Ten Hisashi Tenmyouya's 10 Types of "Art" Including Exhibitions and Curation



Contemporary artist Hisashi Tenmyouya has declared October "Hisashi Tenmyouya Month," launching 10 different initiatives, including exhibitions and the publication of a new art book, as well as collaborations, both domestically and internationally. This presents an opportunity to see everything from his past masterpieces to new works.

Exploring Artist Hisashi Tenmyouya from Multiple Facets Through Diverse Artworks



Hisashi Tenmyouya has consistently created works with a unique concept that directly links Japan's cultural and historical axes, dynamically altering art history. He has presented his work in various forms, including paintings, magazine illustrations, posters, and film art.

In honor of his name, "Tenmyouya," October has been designated "Hisashi Tenmyouya Month," featuring 10 distinct events. Mizuma Art Gallery in Ichigaya will host a new exhibition, while Parco Museum will showcase a comprehensive collection of his past masterpieces. Additionally, his new installation will be presented at the Taro Okamoto Museum of Art in Kawasaki City as part of the "TARO Award Artists II" exhibition.



Furthermore, the A/D Gallery within Roppongi Hills is holding the exhibition "Hisashi Tenmyouya: The Path to the Original - Sketches" until October 26 (Sunday), showcasing his preliminary drawings. This exhibition features a curated selection of sketches and prints from his period of exploration and struggle between 1997 and 2014.

Beyond these, his activities extend overseas with "The Labyrinth of Otherworldly Beings: Manabu Ikeda, Hisashi Tenmyouya & teamLab" at Japan Society in New York, featuring Manabu Ikeda and the Tokyo Ultra-Technologists group teamLab, known as the University of Tokyo's first venture company. At Mizuma & Kankyō Gallery in Singapore, Tenmyouya and Indieguerillas will co-curate a group exhibition.

In late October, items such as T-shirts and hoodies will be released in collaboration with the street fashion brand "XLARGE®." Additionally, a triple collaboration featuring Hisashi Tenmyouya, "XLARGE®," and "BE@RBRICK" will also be unveiled. The art book "Masterpiece" will also be published, rounding out a wide array of artistic endeavors.
