Invader Exhibition Also Held at the Same Venue
Since the late 1990s, Invader has been placing mosaic artworks, inspired by Space Invaders, onto the streets of Paris using tiles. His "invasions," which also incorporate Pac-Man and various other 8-bit characters, have spread globally, with his work visible in 40 countries, including Tokyo.
His latest work is a documentary film titled "ART4SPACE." It captures his transition from Earth-based activities to the realm of space. The film has already been shown in London, Paris, and New York. The highly anticipated Japan premiere will take place exclusively at Uplink Shibuya on Saturday, May 17th, with four screenings scheduled throughout the day.
To commemorate the release of "ART4SPACE," an Invader exhibition is also being held at the Uplink Gallery, adjacent to Uplink Shibuya. Books by Invader, which are difficult to obtain in Japan, will also be available for purchase. Furthermore, the Gallery Target online shop will feature silkscreen prints by Invader created to celebrate the Japan tour.
