Porcelain Like Paper, Crafted with Paper Molds
This talk event features designer Kenmei Nagaoka in conversation with the guest, and architect Takayoshi Hiranuma moderating the session. The project aims to foster a cross-disciplinary understanding of design by discussing what is currently felt within each of their respective fields.
The fourth guest in this designer series is product designer Hitomi Igarashi. A graduate of Tama Art University's Department of Product Design in 2013, she was a finalist in the "LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2013," an international design competition for emerging creators worldwide, with her work mentored by Junya Ishigami. Her award-winning entry, "Making Porcelain with an ORIGAMI," proposed an innovative idea of firing porcelain using paper molds, which judges highly praised as potentially bringing new possibilities to porcelain production.
What does this accomplished young product designer, Igarashi, feel is important now? This event offers an opportunity to share those thoughts at an intimate distance.
