Introducing an Art Price Guarantee, a First in the Art World
WALLS TOKYO was born with the aim of making art purchases, often considered a hurdle for Japanese people, more accessible, understandable, and casual. In addition to an online shop where art can be easily chosen from anywhere, a gallery where works can be viewed in person also opened last December.
WALLS TOKYO showcases a wide range of works, from Andy Warhol and Yayoi Kusama to BANKSY, the masked artist known as an "art terrorist" for "announcing" his works in murals and empty museum rooms worldwide. Visitors can survey the works from a broad perspective. Prices are set based on factors such as auction market values. Furthermore, an art price guarantee, a first in the art world, has been introduced.
Currently on display is the "Andy Warhol and Pop-Up Art Collection Exhibition," featuring works by Andy Warhol, who has seen renewed attention in recent years. The exhibition includes 12 Warhol works available for purchase, alongside pieces by pop art masters such as Jasper Johns and Jim Dine, who were active from Warhol's era to the present day.
WALLS TOKYO proposes a new way of engaging with art. It aims to create wonderful encounters with art for everyone, from those newly interested in art to seasoned collectors.
