Yoshihiko Ueda, born in 1957, is a photographer and curator at Gallery 916. He is known for works such as "QUINAULT" (1993), a series capturing the sacred forests of Native Americans, and "Portraits" (2003), which features 39 prominent Japanese figures including literary giants like Takaaki Yoshimoto and Shōtarō Yasuoka.

In recent years, he has been creating the "Materia" series, exploring the "origin of life." In 2012, he released "Materia," photographs of forests taken in Yakushima. The following year, he presented "M.River," a series focusing on the rivers of Yakushima, showcasing the expanding scope of his work.

"M.Sea," which captures the raging winter Sea of Japan off Higashi-Yashiro in Fukui Prefecture with a digital SLR, was initially presented as an art installation expressing "impermanence" at the Guimet Museum in Paris for the exhibition "L'art de Rosanjin." It also garnered attention at Ueda's solo exhibition in Paris. For this exhibition, 12 selected works from the series of 44 pieces will be displayed as large-format prints.

Meanwhile, "M.Venus," the fourth installment in the M series, presents images of women within a forest setting.
