A Book Decoding Unique Activities Through Keywords: Strategy, Organization, and Methods

Kohei Nawa is known for his diverse expressions based on a unique concept combining 'Pixel' and 'Cell.' His work extends beyond art pieces presented at the 'Setouchi Triennale' and 'Aichi Triennale' in 2013, encompassing design projects for au mobile phones, music video promotions, stage sets, and collaborations with Comme des Garçons.


This exhibition features 'SANDWICH,' a platform for creation that Nawa established in Fushimi, Kyoto, in 2009. Renovated from a former sandwich factory, the space continues to host diverse projects driven by a team of approximately 40 staff members.

Its structure encompasses a wide range of disciplines, including 'ART' by creators led by director Kohei Nawa, 'PRODUCTION' by shaping professionals, 'ARCHITECTURE' handling everything from architectural design to exhibition layout, 'GRAPHIC' responsible for photography, editing, and design of SANDWICH exhibitions and projects, and 'OFFICE' managing project coordination.


The venue offers an experience of SANDWICH's world-renowned vision through a unique exhibition structure. Additionally, a book of the same title, 'KOHEI NAWA | SANDWICH,' will be published, dissecting its unique activities with keywords such as 'strategy,' 'organization,' and 'methods.'


This exhibition offers a comprehensive look at SANDWICH, led by Kohei Nawa. It's an opportunity to witness the working style of a studio actively engaged both domestically and internationally, drawing global attention.
