Reception Party to Follow the Talk!
The third talk event on December 16th will feature a dialogue between acclaimed contemporary artist Kenji Yanobe, who is active nationwide and based in Osaka, having recently held an exhibition at the Taro Okamoto Memorial Museum, and Kenmei Nagaoka, designer and head of D&DEPARTMENT. The moderator will be architect Kohki Hiranuma, who oversaw the renovation of the building for the opening of 'D&DEPARTMENT OSAKA'. The conversation will focus on Yanobe's works and activities, exploring what each guest is feeling 'now'.
Following the talk, we will host our customary reception party. We hope it will be an occasion for attendees to connect and enjoy each other's company. Please feel free to join us!

Kenji Yanobe
Contemporary artist. Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1965. Since his debut in 1990, he has created functional works for survival, themed around 'survival'. In 1997, he began the 'Atom Suit Project,' visiting Chernobyl and other areas affected by nuclear accidents while wearing his self-made radiation-sensing suit. From 2001, he expanded his theme to 'revival' and has been actively exhibiting both domestically and internationally. www.yanobe.com/

Kenmei Nagaoka
Designer. Born in Hokkaido in 1965. After working at Nippon Design Center, he established Drawing and Manual. In 2000, he launched 'D&DEPARTMENT PROJECT,' a new business integrating design and recycling, to explore a realm of consumption conceived by designers. In November 2009, he published 'd design travel,' a guidebook introducing Japan from a design perspective. www.d-department.com/jp/

Kohki Hiranuma
Architect. Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1971. His major works include the conversion of the 'D&DEPARTMENT PROJECT' design recycling store and the environmentally conscious building 'University of Tokyo Kukan Laboratory Building,' designed for the University of Tokyo's Komaba Campus in 2008. His experimental design proposals through conceptual works have received high acclaim internationally. www.khaa.jp/
