Exhibiting only large-scale works. Yoichiro Uchida's exhibition showcasing new endeavors opens at CURATOR’S CUBE
CURATOR’S CUBE
With Yoichiro Uchida from 6 PM, May 17 (Fri.)
Opening Reception
Yoichiro Uchida, owner of "PLACERWORKSHOP," a specialty shop for native orchids in Fukuoka, and a graffiti artist whose "doodles" have garnered a following, is holding a solo exhibition at "CURATOR’S CUBE," a gallery space in Nishi-Shimbashi, Minato-ku. His recent collaboration with "THE CONVENI" is still fresh in our minds.

Seventeen large-scale canvas works are unveiled
Uchida, who has gained support for his unique worldview merging native orchids and graffiti, held "KAMIYAMA★UCHIDA" PAINTINGS with Ryuji Kamiya at KIYONAGA & CO. in Fukuoka in July 2017. He has been actively producing artwork for "the POOL aoyama," "STEVEN ALAN," "TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist," and "THE CONVENI." His creative process involves no specific theme; instead, he intuitively spins words from the back of his mind onto the canvas, composing the picture like a free jazz jam session.
This exhibition, opening at "CURATOR’S CUBE" on May 18, marks Uchida's second solo show under his own name. The exhibition features 17 large canvas works. How do the characters, drawn in his unique style, create beautiful negative space? We invite you to discover this at the venue. A reception party with Uchida is scheduled for May 17 (Fri.) from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
