Classes Held at the Paris Headquarters Now Offered in Japan
L'ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts, is a jewelry school founded in 2012 in Place Vendôme, Paris, with the support of the high jewelry Maison, Van Cleef & Arpels.
It is a school that opens the door to the world of jewelry and the art of jewelry to all, regardless of age or experience, and has so far provided diverse learning opportunities to over 30,000 students from 44 countries.
In addition to its year-round lectures (in English and French) at its Paris headquarters, L'ÉCOLE also holds special courses in Hong Kong, New York, and Dubai. L'ÉCOLE will now open in Tokyo in 2019.
The course will run for 14 days from Saturday, February 23, 2019, to Friday, March 8, 2019. The venue will be the Gaien Campus of Kyoto University of Art and Design (1-7-15 Kita-Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo).
Incidentally, L'ÉCOLE offers approximately 20 programs. These include a two-and-a-half-hour course to understand the world of jewelry, "Savoir-Faire," which allows participants to experience the process from design to model making step-by-step, "History of Jewelry Arts," where one can learn about the history of jewelry from its origins to the present day, and "The World of Gemstones," which teaches the ability to distinguish real from fake by learning how to identify and handle stones.
As mentioned earlier, the official website allows for online registration for all lectures of L'ÉCOLE, which will open in February 2019 at the Gaien Campus of Kyoto University of Art and Design in Tokyo, and provides details on each lecture and an overview of L'ÉCOLE, so please check it out.
Information on an interesting, free-to-enter exhibition on jewelry that will be held concurrently with L'ÉCOLE, as well as details on "Evening Conversations," a dialogue-based lecture that delves deeper into the world of jewelry, will also be released through the official website.
