Shingo Katori's First Solo Exhibition

Shingo Katori's first solo exhibition, 'Shingo Katori NAKAMA des ARTS,' will be held from September 19 (Wed) to October 3 (Wed), 2018, at the Hall Charles V of the Louvre Museum in Paris, France.

Katori, who is also active as a painter, has created murals for the Japan Paralympic Support Center office and, in March of this year, for the Mid-Levels Escalator in Hong Kong, known as the world's longest escalator.

The solo exhibition at the Louvre Museum is one of the official projects of 'Japonisme 2018: Souls in Harmony,' a celebration of Japanese culture and art that has been held in Paris and other locations since last year to commemorate the 160th anniversary of Japan-France friendship.

The concept for this solo exhibition is 'I want to connect with NAKAMA through art',

In addition to works centered on paintings, objects, and fashion, the exhibition will also feature a dome-shaped three-dimensional work titled 'ZUKIN' (hood), created by connecting multiple pieces, from the perspective of 'weakness' becoming 'strength'.

Regarding the solo exhibition, Shingo Katori commented, 'I continue to believe that there is no end to art, but my art brain is exploding at the prospect of starting at the Louvre Museum, which could be called a goal. I want many people to feel me.'

Furthermore, Shingo Katori has been appointed as the public relations ambassador for 'Japonisme 2018',

and plans to engage in various public relations activities in both Japan and France. He stated, 'I would be delighted if people from all over the world could experience the "souls in harmony" of my beloved France and Japan in Paris!'
