Proceeds Support Children in Disaster-Stricken Areas

This annual charity exhibition, co-hosted by Creation Gallery G8 and Guardian Garden since 1990, aims to share the joy of art and design with a wide audience. Creators connected with the two galleries volunteer their work, which is then exhibited and sold, with proceeds donated to charity.

Since 2009, it has been presented under the title 'CREATION Project,' proposing a richer life through the power of design. This year's theme is the aloha shirt. Sewing was commissioned to factories in Fukushima, a major textile production area in the Tohoku region. 177 artists, including Kodue Hibino, Michihiko Yanai (a Fukushima native), Ryoji Tanaka, Akira Uno, and Mitsuo Katsui, have each reflected their unique designs onto the aloha shirt as a canvas.

These shirts are available for pre-order during the exhibition period at ¥8,500 each. The proceeds will be donated to the 'Iwate Learning Hope Fund,'Great East Japan Earthquake'Miyagi Children's Welfare Fund,' and the 'Great East Japan Earthquake Fukushima Children's Donation Fund,' to support children in the affected regions.

In Hawaiian, 'aloha' means 'hello' and 'goodbye,' but also signifies 'love, affection, gratitude, peace, and empathy.' Choose your favorite aloha shirt, brimming with individuality, and send your 'love' to the disaster-stricken areas.
