Experience 190 Years of History and Charm

Herend, a porcelain manufacturer, was established in 1826 in a village located approximately 110 kilometers southwest of Budapest, the capital of Hungary.

As a purveyor to the Imperial and Royal Courts of Austria-Hungary, Herend exhibited at the first World's Fair held in Europe, receiving acclaim. This led to an order for a dinner set from Queen Victoria of Great Britain and purchases by Empress Eugénie of France, further enhancing its reputation.

Embodying the diversity and flexibility of Hungarian culture, and possessing a unique aesthetic, Herend continues to manufacture its products today with the highest skill and quality, while cherishing the tradition of handcrafted and hand-painted craftsmanship.

This exhibition, "Herend Exhibition: The Hungarian Kiln Beloved by Empress Elisabeth," showcases rare masterpieces from the early days of the kiln, as well as renowned pieces that follow traditional styles such as Baroque and Rococo.

Furthermore, approximately 150 works, totaling around 230 pieces, will be displayed together, including collections inspired by Oriental ceramics from China and Japan, and contemporary products. This is a precious opportunity to appreciate the nearly 190-year history and artistic charm of Herend.
