Inner Light Woven by Photographers Akiko Kimura and Masao Yamamoto

The brand “evam eva,” known for its comfortable knitwear designed for everyday wear, is holding a photography exhibition titled “Inner Light – stillness –” at “KATA,” the gallery space within its flagship store, “evam eva yamanashi.” The exhibition features the work of photographers Akiko Kimura and Masao Yamamoto.

Talk by Poet Akihito Shirai and Live Performance by Takuji (Takuji Aoyagi) During the Exhibition

Photographer Akiko Kimura was born in 1971. While working full-time, she continued her photography, eventually becoming an independent photographer in 2015. Her images, which capture the overwhelming beauty of nature beyond human reach, evoke a sense of unity with the natural world in viewers. Masao Yamamoto, born in 1957, began taking photographs at the age of 16 and primarily exhibits works using gelatin silver prints. He has received high acclaim both domestically and internationally for his unique Japanese sensibility and aesthetic. The two artists have known each other since 2000, resonating with and influencing each other’s artistic vision. This exhibition marks their first joint presentation.

“evam eva yamanashi” opened in March 2017 in Chuo City, Yamanashi Prefecture. The store proposes a serene and beautiful worldview centered on the concepts of clothing, food, and living. The exhibition venue is the store’s gallery space, “KATA.” The exhibition will be divided into two periods, with different works displayed in each. The crisp winter air will likely enhance the light emanating from the photographs.

Related events, including a talk by poet Akihito Shirai and a live performance by musician Takuji (Takuji Aoyagi), are also scheduled during the exhibition period.
