Award-Winning Designs to be Exhibited at Milan Design Week Again This Year

Established in 2013 with the aim of nurturing and supporting emerging creators who produce innovative designs and ideas for a prosperous society and a better future, the "Lexus Design Award" features a distinctive system where renowned creators serve as mentors, collaborating with award winners to complete their projects, alongside judging by world-class architects and curators.

The theme for the sixth annual "Lexus Design Award 2018" is "CO-" (pronounced "co"), embodying Lexus's philosophy of creating new value by fusing multiple elements and transcending existing concepts and limitations through their synergy. Lexus is pursuing sustainable design development based on keywords such as "CO-llaboration," "CO-ordination," and "CO-nnection," aiming for coexistence and harmony with nature and society.

In early 2018, the judges will select 12 award-winning works based on the originality of their approach and interpretation of the theme. Four of the winners will receive direct feedback from the judges and collaborate with world-renowned creators through a mentorship program to produce prototypes. These will be exhibited at the Lexus venue duringMilan Design Week(Salone del Mobile) around spring 2018, where a Grand Prix winner will be determined from among them after a presentation of their work.

Submissions can be made through the official website. The application period closes on Sunday, October 8.
