Capturing the 'Fleeting Moments' of Top Actresses

The 'Pirelli Calendar' has been produced by the Italian tire manufacturer Pirelli since 1964. Its combination of artistic photographs expressing feminine beauty by top photographers and its rarity, as it is not sold to the public, garners significant interest each year. Now, behind-the-scenes images from the shooting of the latest 2017 edition have been released.

For the 2017 edition, photographer Peter Lindbergh was brought on board to capture the fleeting moments of top-tier actresses. Alongside his career as a fashion photographer, he has also directed music videos. This marks his third time contributing to the Pirelli Calendar, following his involvement in 1996 and 2002.

The shooting locations spanned five sites across Europe and America: Berlin, London, Paris, Los Angeles, and New York.

The cast of actresses featured included a stellar lineup such as Léa Seydoux, Nicole Kidman, Uma Thurman, and Zhang Ziyi.

The staff who brought them to life were also a collection of accomplished professionals. Hair styling was handled by Odile Gilbert, renowned for her work in collections and fashion magazines worldwide. She is the only hairstylist to have been awarded the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government.

Makeup was by Stéphane Marais. He is a makeup artist active in France who also develops a cosmetic brand bearing his name.

And the styling was overseen by Julia von Boehm, who has experience as the editor-in-chief of French Vogue.

Coinciding with the release of the 2017 behind-the-scenes images, the official Pirelli Calendar website has also launched (http://www.pirellicalendar.com). It features exclusive interviews with international tenor Andrea Bocelli and videos looking back at past Pirelli Calendars.
