Bonsai is gaining popularity both domestically and internationally. The traditional image is being shed, and it is gradually being recognized as art by a wider generation.

Bonsai artist Narishi Hirao, who has garnered significant attention for being appointed a Japan Cultural Envoy and for his work at the Setouchi Triennale, will present "Deeply Love BONSAI ~Beyond the 'Gap' of Artistic Bonsai, Love and Share~." Hirao has conveyed the wonder of bonsai to people through innovative ideas, such as collaborations with DJs.

At this event, Hirao will conduct bonsai demonstrations while explaining his global activities and past works. Numerous "artistic and healing bonsai," including works exhibited at the Setouchi Triennale 2016, will be on display. By witnessing the creation of bonsai up close, attendees can personally experience its allure.

At the end of the event, Hirao will craft a special piece created solely for this occasion. It is an event where one can understand the contrast between the coolness and complexity of bonsai, thereby gaining a deeper appreciation for its magnificence.
