Over 50 Miniature Dresses on Display

DIOR will present the 'Le Théâtre Dior' exhibition at the HANKYU UMEDA Main Store's 9th-floor Festival Plaza from Saturday, June 11.

'Le Théâtre Dior' is inspired by the unique exhibition 'Le Théâtre de la Mode,' held in Paris in 1945 when resources were scarce. That exhibition featured miniature versions of costumes and accessories designed by great couturiers, captivating audiences. Dior, who worked under Lucien Lelong, the exhibition's originator, was involved in the creation of the displayed costumes and props.




'Le Théâtre Dior' transports us back to the captivating atmosphere of 1945 Paris. This exhibition, making its Japan debut, showcases over 50 miniature dresses emblematic of the Maison, highlighting its extraordinary couture heritage and the visionary talent of Christian Dior. Composed of nine themes—the keywords that define the Maison: 'New Look,' 'Dior Allure,' 'Dior's Garden,' 'Miss Dior,' 'From Rose to Rouge,' 'Paris,' 'Trianon Palace (Versailles),' 'J'adore,' and 'Dior's Grand Ball'—the exhibition offers a rare opportunity to admire the meticulous craftsmanship of the atelier up close, with numerous miniature haute couture dresses from the Maison Dior faithfully reproduced in detail. From the iconic Bar suit to miniature ball gowns, the spirit and essence of Dior are condensed into exquisitely crafted miniature dollhouses.
