Works Responding with a Unique Aesthetic

Savor the Skill of a Plant Artist

At Yakumo Saryo, a Japanese restaurant where Shinichiro Ogata, CEO of SIMPLICITY, oversees all aspects of food, space, and tableware, the exhibition "Nenge" by plant artist Satoshi Kawamoto will be held from April 11 (Mon), 2016, as part of its regularly scheduled salon exhibitions.

An Exhibition Facing Nature with a Pure Heart

"Nenge" means to twist a flower, with "ge" referring to plants and flowers collectively. The exhibition title comes from the Zen phrase "Nenge Misho," which signifies the subtle attainment of dharma from heart to heart through plants and flowers, reflecting Mr. Ogata's desire for visitors to feel the transmission of emotions through flora.

In response to Mr. Ogata's question of how to arrange plants and flowers within the "space" of Yakumo Saryo, Mr. Kawamoto has created a collection of works that reflect his unique aesthetic, unconstrained by traditional forms. This "Nenge" exhibition offers a chance to appreciate these creations.

By expressing the act of "standing," "arranging," and "placing" plants and flowers, this promises to be a precious opportunity to deeply feel the interplay between both individuals who approach nature with a pure heart.
