Kensaku Kakimoto's 'TRANSLATOR' Exhibition Opens
The first photo exhibition by Kensaku Kakimoto, an artist active as a director, filmmaker, and photographer, titled 'TRANSLATOR,' will be held from January 16 (Saturday) to 31 (Sunday) at Hillside Forum, Hillside Terrace, Daikanyama.

Featuring a Curated Selection of Photographs and Unreleased Video Works
Kensaku Kakimoto is widely active in film and commercial direction, as well as advertising. While gaining experience as an assistant director for films, TV commercials, and music videos during his student years, he began producing his own works. In 2005, he produced the feature film 'COLORS,' which was released in theaters, expanding his scope of activity globally as a filmmaker and cinematographer, and winning various awards.
Amidst growing international attention for his expressive methods, this marks his first photography exhibition. Kakimoto, who has traveled to over 50 countries since his early twenties, will exhibit a carefully selected collection of photographs taken over the past five years, chosen from tens of thousands of images. Unreleased video works will also be screened.
Kakimoto states, 'I feel like the blood of the Earth. I want to capture the atmosphere, body temperature, and emotions that cannot be expressed in words.' True to the title, this exhibition serves as an interpreter of the invisible 'fluctuations' present in nature, and as a culmination of his creativity. It invites viewers to experience his world from various perspectives.
