Art Exhibition "Back Mutation"

Keiichiro Furukado, a notable artist who sensually blends industrial inks he concocts himself to present works beyond imagination. And augment5, highly acclaimed for their work on the visuals and music for last summer's "Hirata no Boushi." An exhibition, "Back Mutation," born from the collaboration of these two, will be held from January 16 (Mon) to 22 (Sun) at Spiral Garden on the first floor of Spiral in Aoyama.

Viewing possible from Spiral Cafe until 11 PM

"Back Mutation" refers to what is known as a "reverse mutation," where a mutated gene undergoes another mutation to revert to its original form.

The collaborative visuals will be projected onto the approximately 20-meter wall of Spiral Garden, visible from the cafe space, creating a giant screen on the floor. Additionally, around 40 new works by Keiichiro Furukado, who also has a solo exhibition planned for April this year, will be presented and exhibited concurrently.

Keiichiro Furukado
Born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1971. Completed his Master's degree at Tokyo University of the Arts, Graduate School of Fine Arts in 1998. He holds solo exhibitions not only in gallery spaces but also in urban settings. His works, which fantastically transform the atmosphere of a space, are highly regarded as super lounge art.
While his style is diverse, he continues to create works by skillfully manipulating contemporary materials such as acrylic panels, industrial inks, and building wallpapers using analog techniques. Currently, he is a part-time lecturer at Joshibi University of Art and Design.

augment5 Inc.
An independent agency based in Tokyo, specializing in the production of digital media. Founded in 2009. While planning and producing corporate promotional videos and websites, they also handle visual direction for international conferences and video works for regional revitalization, primarily in transactions with advertising agencies and broadcasters.
