4K BRAVIA and Projectors Installed
The Sony Imaging Gallery has long been a popular destination, offering a space where visitors can enjoy a diverse range of photos and videos. This is achieved by combining large prints of works photographed by professionals with 4K-compatible BRAVIA® televisions, which boast resolution approximately four times that of full high-definition. Now, celebrating its first anniversary, the gallery has been reborn with two new spaces.
Gallery 2, with its approximately 85 square meters of space, larger than Gallery 1's approximately 70 square meters, is equipped with four 49-inch 4K BRAVIA® televisions and two 4K video projectors. The expanded space allows for exhibitions utilizing the wall length of up to approximately 34 meters, and depending on the exhibition, the two galleries can be integrated for large-scale displays.
The first exhibition following the renovation will be'Sony World Photography Awards 2015 Winners Exhibition'.
Held from Friday, July 31 to Thursday, August 20, utilizing both Gallery 1 and Gallery 2. Works by photographers from around the world will be exhibited.
Art Book and Goods Shop 'NADiff du Champ' Opens
In conjunction with the gallery space renovation, the art shop "NADiff du Champ" has opened on the same sixth floor of the Sony Building. It offers items related to "image," including art, photography, video, film, and design. The shop focuses on domestic and international photo books, art books, and merchandise. With a unique lineup designed to stimulate curiosity, it features distinctive design goods, gift items perfect for souvenirs, and rare art books and out-of-print editions not commonly found in bookstores.
The Sony Imaging Gallery Ginza has further evolved into a space where not only photography exhibitions but also new forms of visual expression can be experienced and shared. It will be exciting to see what kind of works will be presented from this newly styled gallery.
