Featuring Elsa, Anna, and Olaf from Frozen!

This year's exhibition included not only special commemorative items for MEDICOM TOY EXHIBITION '15 but also collaboration T-shirts from fashion brand STANDARD CALIFORNIA, marking their first participation. Additionally, a capsule toy series called "VINYL ARTIST GACHA" (VAG), priced at 500 yen per play, was introduced. VAG features soft vinyl figures from renowned designers and characters, including Sebastian by PUNK DRUNKERS, Matthew by BRIDGE SHIP HOUSE, and Rangias by T9G, attracting the attention of sofubi fans.

With the new film set for release this December, the Star Wars figures garnered significant attention, as did the RAH (Real Action Heroes) "Frozen" series. Although the realistic figures of Elsa, Anna, and Olaf (Olaf scheduled for August release) were for display only, many expressed a desire for their release.

Other highlights included figures of Lupin the Third as portrayed by Shun Oguri, Momotaro from a Pepsi commercial, the VCD (Vinyl Collectible Dolls) Oni (NIGHT ATTACK Ver.), characters from the popular 1990 TV series "Bishoujo Kamen Poitrine," and a costumed Peko-chan (currently under review), all of which drew considerable interest.

Also on display was a reissued "Hamburger Lamp" from the fashion brand UNDERCOVER, which had generated numerous inquiries even before its release. Originally launched in 2002, this legendary item, still cherished by devoted fans over a decade later, has been released in a smaller size.

MEDICOM TOY's Figures Continue to Evolve

To commemorate MEDICOM TOY's 20th anniversary and BE@RBRICK's 15th anniversary next year, a "BE@RBRICK Design Contest" (http://www.medicomtoy.co.jp/information/contest2015.php) is currently underway. The first judging round concludes on Monday, August 31, followed by a second round. The winning entry will be produced as part of the BE@RBRICK Series 32, scheduled for release in June 2016, and the designer will receive a full set of Series 32.

During the exhibition period, a limited-time collaboration café with BE@RBRICK opened at "J.S.BURGERS CAFE" on the first floor of Shibuya PARCO. Two special menu items, the "BE@RBRICK BURGER" and "PINK BE@RBRICK SODA," were offered. Customers ordering these collaboration items received an original sticker and a chance to win prizes from a capsule toy machine.

BE@RBRICK, known for its charming design and "limitless expressive potential," has collaborated with numerous artists, brands, companies, and characters, releasing thousands of items and gaining a global fanbase as "artistic toys." Alongside BE@RBRICK, MEDICOM TOY's figures continue to evolve, including the RAH (Real Action Heroes) line of action figures that faithfully recreate international film and anime characters, and the VCD (Vinyl Collectible Dolls) sofubi series, popular for characters from Disney films and Fujiko F. Fujio works.
