Text and Photography by Shiori Kawamoto
Strictly Speaking, It's "Masculine, Feminine Looks, and Dancing"
The exhibition includes photographic prints of "masculine and feminine looks" by the performance unit AIZENN, and a video of idol Mirin Furukawa dancing in a fixed landscape.
The title "Masculine and Feminine Looks" was initially a working title, but it was kept as is because it was easily understood. Strictly speaking, however, the correct title is "Masculine, Feminine Looks, and Dancing."
Typically, "masculine looks" are achieved when women dress as men. If "feminine looks" are the opposite, they should naturally be when men dress as women. However, in this exhibition, it is an attempt to achieve "feminine looks" by members who live their daily lives with a boyish and two-dimensional worldview, dressing as women.
We hope you will feel a sense of incongruity in various ways.
"Dancing" is a video shot with the feeling of "a single photograph" using long exposure with a large camera. We hope you will gaze absently at the figures dancing calmly in ordinary landscapes.
