Expressions where all information and images rebel, influencing even our subjectivity.
Taniguchi's work commands attention not only within the art world but also across diverse fields such as fashion and IT. This exhibition features a unique collaboration with the fashion brand 'writtenafterwards'. Focusing on the artist's current evolution, the exhibition explores the rebellion of images in contemporary times, presence, pop culture, girlhood, and today's themes.
Taniguchi's signature 'mirror girl' series, featuring girls reflected in mirrors amidst thick paint, are highly regarded and supported as outstanding portraits of complex, delicate, and ephemeral modern personalities, simultaneously raw and pop-like, symbolic.
The first-floor window display showcases a collaborative work with Yoshikazu Yamagata, designer of 'writtenaterwards'. Inspired by the collection "writtenafterwards 6th collection Sin and Punishment," which featured 19 local girls in Vienna and explored the eternal Lolita and the imperfection of gods (adults), this new piece centers around three new drawings.
