Coca-Cola and Uniqlo Join Forces to Find the World's Next T-Shirt Designers


The 8th Annual UT GRAND PRIX 2012 Kicks Off


The Coca-Cola Company has been selected as the partner for Uniqlo's "UT GRAND PRIX 2012." This grand prix invites designs inspired by Coca-Cola, a brand with an unparalleled 125-year history in design and one of the world's most valuable brands.

Ten Selected Designs to Go on Sale at Uniqlo Stores Worldwide in Spring 2012


For this "UT GRAND PRIX 2012," participants are encouraged to express the inspiration that Coca-Cola has consistently provided to youth culture, from fashion and art to music.

Kate Dwyer, Worldwide Licensing Director at The Coca-Cola Company, stated, "Whether depicting Coca-Cola's iconic commercials or its traditional contour bottle, The Coca-Cola Company shares with Uniqlo a spirit of timeless design. UT GRAND PRIX 2012 is an excellent opportunity for two iconic design brands to inspire the next generation of graphic and fashion designers."

The grand prize winner will receive $10,000 USD and a limited-edition "Coca-Cola Art Book" published by Assouline, celebrating 125 years of Coca-Cola. This exquisite book features a curated collection of iconic imagery, advertisements, designs, films, fashion, art, and social history that define the Coca-Cola brand. The limited edition is handcrafted and presented in a linen-lined slipcase.

All T-shirts designed by the 10 finalists will be sold at Uniqlo stores worldwide. Additionally, the finalists will each receive a special set of Coca-Cola bottles featuring designs from all 10 winners.

Application Period: Monday, September 12, 2011 (until 23:59:59 EST)
Eligibility: Open to applicants of all ages, genders, and nationalities.
Judging Process: Works selected in the first round by judges from Uniqlo and Coca-Cola will be featured on the contest's campaign website (see URL below). Subsequently, special guest judges will select the grand prize winner, judges' awards, and honorable mentions. Designs receiving the most votes on the website will also receive an award.
