ART: Charity Art Exhibition "ROSES." to be held.
What we can do now for children affected by disaster
ROSES. Charity Art Exhibition 2011 Held
Providing opportunities for children worldwide who truly wish to receive an education, enabling them to gain knowledge, develop society and the economy, and escape poverty.──The charity art exhibition "ROSES." continues its activities, believing that education leads to world peace. This year, it will be held from Wednesday, August 31st to Sunday, September 4th at Omotesando Hills Space O and other venues.
Text by OPENERS
Supporting the creation of an environment for children in developing countries to receive a sufficient education
In "ROSES." 2008, a ROSES. library was built in Cambodia. In "ROSES." 2009, a ROSES. library was built in Laos, and financial support for a long-term girls' program was donated. Last year's "ROSES." 2010 planned support for Sri Lanka, and the charity art exhibition "ROSES." continues to build its achievements steadily.
This year's "ROSES." 2011 will support children affected by the unprecedented Great East Japan Earthquake that struck in March.
While collaborating with artists and celebrities from various fields to help build children's futures, the exhibition also serves as an increasingly substantial platform for many artists to showcase their work each year. Artists create and exhibit/sell works inspired by "ROSES.", and all proceeds are managed and utilized through "Room to Read" (an NGO that establishes educational facilities such as schools and libraries in developing countries).
Additionally, at the same venue, in collaboration with the Italian toy "RODY," celebrities and notable figures will select their favorite colored RODY, sign it (H55×W55cm), and decorate a "MIDDLE RODY" (H21×W20cm). These "RODY & Custom MIDDLE RODY Sets" will be available through a silent auction at the ROSES. charity art exhibition venue.
