The Second Art Space, Following Paris

Louis Vuitton, which has deepened its relationship with contemporary art through partnerships with internationally renowned artists such as Takashi Murakami and Stephen Sprouse, is launching a new art space, "Espace Louis Vuitton Tokyo," on the 7th floor of the Louis Vuitton Omotesando Building, a landmark in the area.

This is the second Louis Vuitton art space, following the one opened in 2006 at its flagship store on the Champs-Élysées in Paris. The Espace in Paris has hosted over 15 exhibitions themed "Art of Travel," including contemporary art exhibitions, readings, and art talks held three times a year, attracting over 200,000 visitors. It is now considered an integral part of France's important art institutions.

Espace Louis Vuitton Tokyo is located on the 7th floor of the Louis Vuitton Omotesando Building, designed by architect Jun Aoki in September 2002, inspired by stacked trunks. With a ceiling height of 8.45 meters and an area of 193 square meters, the space offers a unique experience, making visitors feel as if they have entered a glass-walled otherworldly realm floating in the sky.

To commemorate the 5th anniversary of the Espace in Paris, the newly established Espace in Tokyo will feature a wide range of solo and group exhibitions by emerging and established artists, similar to Paris. The space will also support the exhibition of unique works by Japanese artists.

The opening exhibition will feature French artist Xavier Veilhan, whose 2009 exhibition at the Palace of Versailles received global acclaim.

Four new works, including "Free Fall," created with inspiration from Espace Louis Vuitton Tokyo, which seems to connect the earth and the heavens, will captivate visitors.

Veilhan himself commented, "This space has allowed me to reconstruct myself, both spiritually and spatially, through art." Espace Louis Vuitton Tokyo is a new cultural hub that promises to be a focal point of attention.
