Support Tohoku's Children Through Running

Seeking Participants for "Run for Children Tohoku at adidas RUNBASE 2015"

"Let's support the children of Tohoku with the running we love!" DJ Toshio Matsuura launched the charity project "Run for Children Tohoku" with this sentiment. In cooperation with adidas, he has hosted a charity run every year since 2012. Nearly four years have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake. This year, on Sunday, March 15th, "Run for Children Tohoku at adidas RUNBASE 2015" will be held, using the running facility "adidas RUNBASE" and the Imperial Palace as its stage.

So Children Can Dream of a Future, Working Hard Every Day in the Disaster-Stricken Areas

This charity running project is organized by Toshio Matsuura. With the cooperation of adidas Japan, OPENERS has supported this initiative since its inception in 2012. Ahead of the fourth annual "Run for Children Tohoku at adidas RUNBASE 2015," messages have arrived from Matsuura and adidas Japan.

《Message from Toshio Matsuura》
It has been nearly four years since the Great East Japan Earthquake, which took countless precious lives and disrupted daily life. "Never forget that time." This thought drives me to run every day, and once a year, to gather with like-minded people to run around the Imperial Palace. The purpose is to raise funds for the "HATSUMI Fund," which supports NPOs working on the ground to help children in the disaster-stricken areas, who are working hard and energetically every day, to regain a sense of normalcy in their lives, including "playing" and "learning," and to enable them to dream of a future. This charity event is called "Run for Children Tohoku at adidas RUNBASE."

For this fourth event, I want to share the "power of challenge" with everyone, so we will all attempt a 10km run together. Let's unite our hearts in Tokyo as spring approaches and break a sweat in a refreshing way. We look forward to your participation.

《Message from adidas Japan》
At adidas, we engage in social contribution activities based on our mission to "make the world a better place through sport." Following the Great East Japan Earthquake, we have provided reconstruction support, for example, by sending our contract advisors and employees directly to Rikuzentakata City. We also continue to support other regions through organizations and companies such as OPENERS.

For this event, we will be cooperating by providing the latest running shoes for rental. All of our staff are looking forward to meeting you there.
