Sustainability is a Matter of the Heart

If I were to rephrase sustainable living in my own terms, I believe it would be about maintaining a state where both myself and those around me can be happy. And does this state proliferate? I think that's what it comes down to. In other words, before discussing concrete actions, I believe it's necessary to approach it as a matter of the heart. What becomes important then is a lifestyle that continues to nurture a pure heart, and the act of keeping our immediate surroundings beautiful. I believe that possessing rich sensitivity and aesthetic sensibility is the root of sustainability.

Sharpening the "Sense of Wonder"

The Keyword is "Atmosphere"

In that regard, doesn't the "atmosphere" created by music play a significant role? Even in daily life, when you play music, the "atmosphere" changes, doesn't it? In the sense that the mood or feeling changes. I believe this sense of "atmosphere," which can be called a spiritual or imaginative space, will become a keyword going forward.

Gratitude Arises from the Recognition of Life

At a World Expo venue some time ago, I recorded and played the sound of a tree absorbing water and the sounds of small insects' lives. By listening to the sounds of plants and small creatures that humans cannot normally hear, we can recognize that all living things are alive. For children, this becomes a subconscious experience, and I believe it will eventually surface. In human activities, cutting down trees is sometimes necessary. However, the question is whether a sense of gratitude arises from it. I believe that such feelings naturally lead to sustainability.

A Feeling That Tickles the Heart

In my personal life, I try to maintain a "feeling that tickles the heart." As a result, I find myself cherishing various things, which naturally leads to a sustainable lifestyle. Furthermore, I strive to create this chain reaction not only for myself but also for those around me. As a specific method for this, I have a technique called "Musical Backing, Imaginative Stroll," which I will discuss in a talk show, so please look forward to it (laughs).

The items I selected for "Sustainable Life Luggage" are also chosen based on a "feeling that tickles the heart." Among them is a book called "Manyoshu of Sound," which discusses how ancient Japanese people perceived sound. Reading it, I am amazed by the rich sensibility of the Japanese people. In the era to come, possessing a rich heart will be far more luxurious than owning many material possessions. In such times, this book reminds us of the memory of aesthetic sensibilities that the Japanese people once felt.

Additionally, there's a spherical speaker that looks like a toy but produces beautiful sound, and a harmonica with a horn. I've included some intriguing trinket-like items. I believe this very playfulness is the origin of cultivating a rich sensibility.
