A Variety of Events Curated by Cultural Connoisseurs to Ignite Shibuya's Newest Cultural Scene──A new live hall, "Euro Live," is set to launch in Shibuya, offering a diverse program of performances spanning genres such as rakugo, comedy, film, music, and solo theater, alongside talks and workshops related to these fields.

A key feature of Euro Live is its curated approach, with genre-specific curators developing a rich array of programs. This includes "Shibuya Comedy Center," a regular comedy performance series by Seikou Itoh, Mitsuru Kuramoto, and Motoko Ohbayashi of "Comedy Committee," and "Shibuya Rakugo (Shibura-ku)," a monthly rakugo event held on the second week of each month, curated by Sankyu Tatsu'o, a comedian and researcher.

Regarding rakugo performances in Shibuya, an area lacking such venues, Sankyu Tatsu'o expressed his ambition: "We want to create a place where young people can easily enjoy rakugo, and to establish new approaches and styles of performance that will set trends. We aim to place traditional performing arts, film, and comedy on an equal footing with rakugo."

The opening events will feature a "Film Academy" hosted by Tomohiro Machiyama, a popular film critic based in the United States who actively engages with film commentary across various media. Alongside Machizo Hasegawa and Risaku Kirishima, he will offer uninhibited discussions on unreleased American comedies, Godzilla, and Hayao Miyazaki.
