A Masterpiece Reflecting Each Era in Every Meter of Flavor

The Westin Tokyo, designed in a European neoclassical architectural and interior style, opened within Yebisu Garden Place on October 14, 1994. This year marks its 20th anniversary. To celebrate this special occasion, a 20-meter-long custom anniversary cake, crafted with 20 types of cacao and flavors that are as delightful to behold as they are to taste, will be presented in the hotel lobby.



Executive Pastry Chef Kazuo Suzuki spent a year on the concept and planning for this special anniversary cake, which expresses the past 20 years of history through a different chocolate flavor for each meter. The cake is composed of tastes that reflect each era, from bitter flavors for adults to milder options, culminating in a non-alcoholic creation for children, symbolizing dreams and the future. It is a masterpiece where the 20-year history of The Westin Tokyo and Japan, along with dreams for the future, are intertwined with the cake's flavors.



At the cake-cutting ceremony, the first guests who have patronized the hotel since its opening will be invited. Additionally, five long-serving staff members of The Westin Tokyo will act as ambassadors, marking the past 20 years.



At this charity event, donations will be collected as a gesture of goodwill from attendees. All proceeds will be directed to the "Hata-chii Fund" to support children in areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.



Furthermore, an event to entrust the hotel's and children's dreams into a time capsule is planned for the latter part of the celebration. This marks a new beginning towards the next 20 years.
