Ryuichi Sakamoto Playing the Piano 2009
Performance at Green Hall Sagamihara Grand Hall on April 23 (Thursday)

The "Ryuichi Sakamoto Playing The Piano 2009" tour, having completed its nationwide journey across Japan,
returned to Kanto today, bringing us to Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture. It's the final sprint from here!

The venue was Green Hall Sagamihara. The weather was fine, and it was a wonderfully cool day.

Today, a public rehearsal was held starting at 4 PM. Ten lucky winners from a lottery were in attendance.
During the public rehearsal, we were able to hear many precious performances by the Professor, which are rarely heard at other times. Everyone seemed deeply moved.

Then, the main performance began at 7 PM. The hall was already full!

As the venue gradually darkened and the sounds of "glacier" began to emerge, I found myself excited every time the performance started.
As the audience's emotions swelled, the hall fell silent, creating a space "out of noise."

I am always captivated by the faint, ethereal imagery of "glacier"!
As white and black, light and darkness, begin to faintly appear, it truly feels as if one is "gazing at sound."

Additionally, "Gohatto" made its debut in Sagamihara!
This is the theme song from director Nagisa Oshima's film "Gohatto." Hearing it as a piano solo was a rare treat.

The extensive encore concluded with "put your hands up."
The applause was passionate again today!
