A Full Course Meal in Darkness While Blindfolded: "Kurayami Shokudo"
Surrounded by a 20,000-tsubo Japanese garden, originally part of Yamagata Aritomo's private residence during the Meiji era, Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo offers a natural escape within the city. The serene setting boasts numerous spots for cooling off, including the Yusuichi pond, reminiscent of the Meiji period, and the dynamic Gojodaki waterfall. During "Summer Splash ~Enjoy Summer with All Five Senses~," the hotel will display 330 Edo-style wind chimes and create a sea of clouds by misting the "Hotaru-sawa" area. After sunset, the garden will be illuminated, deepening its mystical ambiance.
To stimulate the sense of "taste," a limited three-day event called "Kurayami Kaidan" powered by Kurayami Shokudo will be held from Friday, August 8th to Sunday, August 10th. Participants will savor a full-course meal while blindfolded. This collaboration with "Kurayami Shokudo," known for its unique experiences and featured in various media, is presented by "Kodomo Gokoro Seisakusho" and promises a slightly eerie yet delicious dinner party perfect for a summer night.
For "scent," aromatherapist Maki Ohashi has blended essential oils derived from summer oranges from Hagi, Yamaguchi Prefecture, to create a refreshing fragrance that delicately scents the corridor connecting the Tower and Hotel buildings. Additionally, Ms. Ohashi will host a "Summer Aroma Class" on Tuesday, July 15th.
Also returning by popular demand is the "Champagne Garden 2014," held at the Sky Gallery "Serenity Garden." Guests can enjoy free-flowing Moët & Chandon champagne, two other champagne selections, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages.
Furthermore, a wealth of events are planned for children during their summer break. Various packages are available, combining activities like wind chime painting, cookie making, and Hagi pottery workshops with accommodation or lunch.
Create lasting summer memories with Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo's "Summer Splash ~Enjoy Summer with All Five Senses~." It's an opportunity for both adults and children to fully embrace a unique summer getaway in the heart of the city.
