Events Held at Bookstores, Museums, Theaters, and More Across Tokyo

The "Tokyo International Literary Festival," Japan's first full-scale celebration of books, was held in 2013. Despite minimal pre-event promotion, it attracted a large audience and concluded with great success.

This year marks the festival's second iteration, with the duration extended from last year's three days to ten. Throughout this period, writers, editors, and illustrators from Japan and abroad will engage in talks and readings on various themes at museums, theaters, bookstores, cafes, cinemas, and universities throughout Tokyo.

The opening event on Friday, February 28th, will take place at Kinokuniya Southern Theater. Pulitzer Prize-winning author Junot Díaz, along with Kanae Minato, Masashi Matsuya, and Nathan Englander, will participate in a lively discussion themed "Where Stories Are Born."
