AXIS | more trees Exhibition – 12 Days to Feel the Forest

TOUCH WOOD art project Held at Roppongi Axis Building

From Wednesday, October 27th to Sunday, November 7th, the "more trees Exhibition: 12 Days to Feel the Forest" will be held at the Axis Building in Roppongi, a joint project by more trees and Axis. The main venue will be the Axis Gallery on the 4th floor. In addition to exhibits conveying the current state of forests and initiatives related to them, aiming to revitalize Japan's critically endangered artificial forests, new products merging thinned wood with advanced design will be unveiled. Installations using wood will be displayed throughout the building, with works by artist Yasuhiro Suzuki also set up on the B1 floor and in the courtyard. It is truly an initiative that invites visitors into an "urban forest."

Popular Artists' Photo Art at Astonishing Prices!

One of the highlights of this exhibition, the "TOUCH WOOD art project," will be held at the B1 floor Axis Gallery "Symposia." This "TOUCH WOOD art project" is a charity art project developed as part of more trees' activities. It makes its debut with a refreshed title from the previous "TOUCH WOOD Exhibition."

This project began in 2009. The first installment was held at Shibuya Parco with the cooperation of 13 photographers who support more trees. Since then, after exhibitions in Fukuoka, Tokyo, and Nagoya, this marks the fifth iteration. The frames for the photographs are made from thinned domestic cypress wood, and the unique initiative, where 20-40% of the artwork sales contribute to more trees' forest conservation activities, has garnered significant attention.

A total of 20 artists are participating in this "TOUCH WOOD art project," and their lineup is "super" star-studded! With the works of such renowned artists, an extremely experimental and stimulating endeavor will be undertaken this time. Amazingly, their photographic works will be sold in two price tiers: ¥50,000 and ¥100,000! Some works with limited editions are expected to sell out quickly.

While the field of photographic art is still developing in Japan, the global market is rapidly maturing, with artworks frequently fetching millions or tens of millions of yen. With the advent of the digital age, photographic art created with film and prints is becoming rarer, leading to expectations of further value appreciation. Considering this context, the "TOUCH WOOD art project" has limited the output prints to TYPE C prints, gelatin silver prints, and lambda prints. Naturally, all works are original prints. The authenticity of the art value is fully guaranteed, with original signatures from the artists on all pieces.

It is rare to have the opportunity to acquire works by participating photographers at this price. Furthermore, purchasing them contributes to social good, making it an ideal situation. Whether this will be a prime example of art and social contribution naturally intertwining remains to be seen. We encourage you to visit the event starting Wednesday, October 27th, and continue to follow the "TOUCH WOOD art project."

This is a precious opportunity to acquire works by notable photographers at an astonishing price. Moreover, your purchase contributes to social good, making it an unparalleled opportunity. This initiative, where art and social contribution are naturally connected, is worth observing. We encourage you to visit the event starting Wednesday, October 27th, and keep an eye on the future developments of the "TOUCH WOOD art project."
