This Year's Designing Exhibition: The Theme is "Time"

A highlight of this year's Designing Exhibition is the theater and large table, constructed through a workshop using materials provided by WOODPRO of Hiroshima, which will be set up in Kego Park from May 10th (Friday) to 13th (Monday). These structures will host a variety of events including talk sessions, workshops, a library, a cafe, and film screenings. After the Designing Exhibition, the scaffolding boards used will be transformed into fixtures for the "Ba to Ma" exhibition in Tokyo, and subsequently transported to NEWLAND in Saitama, where they will be reborn as structures imbued with new life, cherished by many.

"Designing Culture, The Future of Japanese Cinema" – Joint Talk Event Commemorating the Release of the Film "Playback"


ActorJun Murakamiwill join Kiyohiko Shibukawa and film director Sho Miyake to explore the future of Fukuoka and Japanese culture through independent Japanese cinema. The venue will be "Brooklyn Parlor HAKATA", a new space in Hakata produced by Blue Note Japan, with a limited capacity of 80 guests.



Live Event "Sound Collage In The Dark"


This live event offers a simulated experience, akin to watching "a single film" or traveling the world, by combining sounds from tape recorders field-recorded across the globe, various instruments such as flute, wood bass, pianica, ukulele, and harmonica, with slide projections that evoke imagery across the entire stage. The guides for this event are CINEMA dub MONKS, who have performed live in various locations including Barcelona, Lisbon, Berlin, Paris, and New York. This event is also limited to 80 guests.



"Adaptation -The workshop of epiphytic orchids are carried out to trees"


This workshop aims to utilize the epiphytic nature of orchids worldwide and connect it to the future. Participants will attach several types of orchids to three trees that have stood unchanged in the heart of Fukuoka's Daimyo district for decades. While enjoying the process of epiphysis, participants will take responsibility for the orchids, which will bloom and continue to connect to the future for years, decades, and even when their children grow up and they themselves grow old.
