Yoshinobu Tei's production of "Edaniku" will be staged at Asakusa Nine. Written by Takuya Yokoyama in 2009, the play received the 15th Japan Playwrights Association New Play Award. It has been revived multiple times, garnering significant acclaim and becoming Yokoyama's most highly regarded work.

One day, the bovine brainstem, supposed to be under strict control in a slaughterhouse, goes missing. This incident sparks a heated exchange between a new employee from a client company and a craftsman at the processing center, both meeting for the first time. They confront each other with issues concerning their identities, touching upon the act of slaughter, corporate negotiations, and the preservation of their positions. In this workplace where life is swiftly turned into death, and living beings are continuously transformed into objects, what questions do the men's daily lives pose to us?

Starring in this production is Yu Inaba, a popular young actor who garnered attention in last year's film "Haru Matsu Bokura" and the drama "Heisei Bashiru," with several more film releases scheduled for 2019. He will take on the challenge of a three-person play alongside the versatile stage actor Sasuke Otsuru and Yuichiro Nakayama of Asakusa Spiders.

Regarding the production, Yoshinobu Tei expressed his anxieties, saying, "What if I'm criticized, with comments like 'He completely misunderstands it,' compared to my previous directing? I'm fragile, so I'm really scared. I apologize in advance: 'I'm sorry.'" However, he also revealed his confidence: "But, but you know, there's one thing I can be proud of: the cast, right? Yu Inaba, Sasuke Otsuru, Yuichiro Nakayama – I've gathered these vibrant actors. There's no way this won't be interesting. They should be able to embody Takuya Yokoyama's realistic dialogue realistically. Please forgive me for that, I beg you."
