A Multitude of Events to Enjoy the "Run"

The Tokyo Marathon, which began in 2007, sees great excitement every year. With the 2019 event scheduled for Sunday, March 3, numerous pre-events are being held.

The "Tokyo Marathon EXPO" is one of the largest running trade shows in Japan. Now in its 13th year, this event features 107 exhibitors and attracts over 100,000 visitors, including 38,000 runners from across Japan and abroad who come to exchange their bib numbers.


You can experience numerous demonstrations, including the latest gear and apparel related to running, and services from various exhibitors. It teaches you not just to focus on running, but to "enjoy running."

Additionally, on the day before the Tokyo Marathon, the "Tokyo Marathon 2019 Eve Festival" will be held in two areas: Odaiba and Marunouchi.

At the Seaside Park Symbol Promenade, two events will be held: the "Tokyo Marathon Family Run 2019" and the "Tokyo Marathon Friendship Run 2019."




The Family Run is a fun run event aimed at allowing pairs of elementary school students and their guardians to feel the "joy of running." Continuing from the previous year, wheelchair races will also be held to promote parasports and allow more people to experience the wonders of sports. The Marathon Friendship Run is a fun run event aimed at hospitality and interaction with runners participating from overseas and foreign visitors.

At the Marunouchi venue, the Tokyo Marathon Week 2019 official event, "Let's See the Finish Area! Marunouchi Naka-dori Event," will be held. This event will feature a parade to energize the Tokyo Marathon 2019, with runners participating and supporters waving national flags, as well as the annual participatory running event for office workers and talk shows aimed at improving health awareness and fostering interaction among those working in the Marunouchi area.
