Approximately 100 Items on Display
Soichiro Ito established the fashion brand soe in 2001, consistently presenting simple, minimalist, and refined designs.
Currently serving as director, he engages in a wide range of activities beyond fashion, driven by fresh perspectives and ideas, including international expansion and collaborations with artists.
The "ITO BANK COLLECTION" exhibition features Ito's collection of piggy banks. He began actively collecting them in his early childhood and has amassed a significant number, primarily vintage pieces from around the world, including America and Europe.
The collection, spanning various genres and eras, includes iconic motifs familiar to many, as well as regional crafts, character designs, food-themed items, and animal figures. His unique interests and discerning eye have led to a collection of over 200 pieces.
This is a rare opportunity to glimpse Ito's aesthetic sensibilities through his diverse and humorous collection, much of which has remained largely unknown until now.
The venue will display approximately 100 piggy banks from the collection. Additionally, in conjunction with this exhibition, soe and contemporary artist Ken Kagami have collaborated on T-shirts and original stickers featuring drawings themed around "money," which will be sold exclusively at VOILLD and M.I.U.
An opening reception is scheduled for the first day, Wednesday, May 9th.
