IMA, a magazine launched this August as "a magazine for slowly reading photographs"A talk event, "Magnum in the 21st Century: From Journalism to Art," will be held on Friday, November 30th, from 7 PM at Daikanyama Tsutaya Books to commemorate the release of its second issue. What is the appeal of photography, as discussed by Peter Marlow, former president of the renowned Magnum Photos, and Kazuhiro Saito, former editor-in-chief of Vogue Nippon?

Photography's Present and Future, Through the Lens of the World's Foremost Photographers' Collective
IMA was launched in August by Amanah Holdings, known for its stock photo site, Amanah Images. With Mutsumi Ota, who has experience in magazines and art projects, as editorial director, it is an unprecedented photography magazine featuring works by domestic and international photographers on high-quality paper.
To celebrate the release of the second issue of IMA, published quarterly four times a year, this talk event brings together two distinguished speakers. Tsutaya Books will offer an early release starting Monday, November 26th, ahead of the official launch on Thursday, November 29th. The first 100 customers who purchase IMA or any book related to Magnum Photos will receive a ticket for the talk show.

Founded in 1947 by legendary photojournalist Robert Capa and others, Magnum Photos has brought together photographers from various countries, continuously shaping "the images of our time." In this session, Peter Marlow, who led this collective, and Kazuhiro Saito, a key figure in Japanese fashion, will discuss the present and future of photography through the lens of this "world-class photographers' collective," spanning journalism, art, and fashion. Don't miss this special session with two individuals who have consistently captured the essence of their times from the forefront.
Peter Marlow
Born in the UK in 1952. Became a full member of Magnum Photos in 1982. In 1983, he organized the "London by Night" project. In 1988, he undertook a publishing project themed around Liverpool, releasing the photo collection "Liverpool" (1990). This October, he released his new photo collection, "The English Cathedral." He is renowned for his portraits of everyone from politicians to celebrities. He served as president of Magnum Photos from 2001 to 2003.
Kazuhiro Saito
Born in Yamagata Prefecture in 1955. After graduating from the University of Tokyo, he joined the editorial department of Heibonsha's "Taiyo" magazine, and in 1996 became editor-in-chief of "Brutus." He concurrently served as editor-in-chief of "Casa Brutus" from 1998. In 2001, he was appointed President of Condé Nast Publications Japan, concurrently serving as editor-in-chief of "VOGUE NIPPON" and "GQ JAPAN." He currently works as an editor while also teaching at a university.
