Talk Show Featuring Book Coordinator Shintaro Uchunuma and Author Mieko Kawakami
This summer, Shintaro Uchunuma, active as a book coordinator, and others opened "B&B" in Shimokitazawa. This is a noteworthy bookstore and event space with the concept of "choosing books while drinking beer." This time, a talk show with acclaimed author Mieko Kawakami, winner of the Akutagawa Prize, on the theme of "sweet books" will be held on Tuesday, October 30th, from 1 PM.

A Special Book Corner Themed "Sweet"
Shintaro Uchunuma is a book coordinator who produces book spaces and libraries, and plans and creates projects related to books. He is also a co-owner of "B&B," which opened this summer in Shimokitazawa as a bookstore where customers can enjoy beer and soft drinks while selecting books. In addition, the bookshelves are not organized by usual author or genre, but by contextual shelves selected by meaning and connection. The furniture and interior in the store are also available for purchase, making it a space where you can discover books in a new way, different from conventional bookstores.

To commemorate the release of Häagen-Dazs Japan's new Crêpe Glacée, "Chocolat Framboise," Uchunuma has selected 18 books that evoke the theme of "sweetness" inspired by "Chocolat Framboise." These will be featured and sold at B&B's special book corner from Tuesday, October 30th to Friday, November 9th, under the title "Häagen-Dazs the Sweet Book Selection ~Shintaro Uchunuma Presents at B&B~."
Furthermore, an opening event will be held on Tuesday, October 30th, from 1 PM. Mieko Kawakami, an author whose unique sensibility captivates readers, will be a guest. She will join Uchunuma for a talk show. Kawakami published her first romance novel, "All the Lovers in the Middle of the Night," last year.
This event is perfect for the autumn reading season. We invite you to enjoy a journey through books in a "sweet world," alongside the talk by Uchunuma and Kawakami, both passionate about reading.
