Kamukamu Minikina: Crafting Unique Theatrical Worlds

Kamukamu Minikina was founded in 1990 by members of the Waseda University theater circle, "Engeki Kurabu." Since then, its founder, Takeshi Matsumura, has written and directed all of the company's productions. The cast includes actors active in film and television, such as Tomohito Yashima and Jihan Yamazaki. The company is known for its high-energy, fast-paced comedic narratives, distinctive style, and direction that emphasizes theatrical expression.

In 2010, the company celebrated its 20th anniversary. The following year, Matsumura, deeply moved by the Great East Japan Earthquake, channeled his feelings into his work. He wrote "Kazakami Punch," a piece themed around requiem and theater, which garnered media attention. In 2015, for their 25th anniversary, they staged "Swan Dive," with Tomohito Yashima as the lead, and "Dy-nary," starring Jihan Yamazaki.


This year, they present "Yakyō - Ono-shi no Koshi," with Noriko Fujita taking the lead role. The horror production features guest appearances by Saori Seto, Tenkyu Fukuda, and Chukyū Kubo. This unprecedented fusion of comedy and horror is not to be missed.

The production will tour Tokyo, Osaka, and Nara.

Takeshi Matsumura
Matsumura founded Kamukamu Minikina in 1990 while studying at Waseda University. He has since written and directed all of the company's productions. In 2003, he became the youngest person to write and direct a Meijiza Theater production, "San'nyo Kiza: Edo no Akatsuki." In 2010, his direction of "Tabi to Haha" at the Aoyama Round Theater explored new theatrical expressions and earned nominations in four categories, including the Yomiuri Theater Award for Excellence. His work spans musicals to straight plays and consistently attracts media attention.

Noriko Fujita
Fujita joined the company in 1994. As Kamukamu Minikina's star actress, her charming appearance and dynamic performances have captivated audiences with laughter. While also active with her unit "good morning N°5" with Ikuko Sawada, she has recently focused on comedic performances.
