An Annual Delight: The Fusion of TOY and ART by Medicom Toy

"MEDICOM TOY EXHIBITION '12," the 2012 new product exhibition, is packed with Medicom Toy's new challenges in its 16th year, following its 15th anniversary last year.

Many items are released to coincide with this exhibition, always generating buzz.Commemorative ProductsAmong the highlights are the "BE@RBRICK SPEAKER SYSTEM Ver. 2.0" for charging and playing music on iPhones/iPods, soft vinyl Tiger Mask (anime version) and Mr. Fudo (anime rival version), and the "CoroCoro VS BonBon (2-figure set)." Other notable items include "BE@RBRICK SERIES 24," "Happy BE@RBRICK INTERNATIONAL LOVE HEART (Pink/White)," "BE@RBRICK ANA 3PCS SET," "BE@RBRICK Aiko Kaitou," "THE AVENGERS ASSEMBLE SET, BE@RBRICK GReeeeN," "PBM! Kamen Rider Fourze Base States," "RAH DARTH VADER(TM) Ver. 2.0," and "UDF PEANUTS Series 1."


Also appearing are unprecedented items like the necklace with pavé-set BE@RBRICKs, "STARDUST BE@RBRICK PENDANT Palladium Coating (release undecided)," and black chrome coating (release undecided). These, along with glowing BE@RBRICKs, ceramic BE@RBRICK piggy banks, BE@RBRICK WATER, and Aroma Diffusers, are likely to become popular as "usable" BE@RBRICKs.

Furthermore, the exhibition layout is fresh this time, with a "FABRICK" corner at the back. FABRICK develops products that enhance daily life, centered around original textiles. Eye-catching items include the "BANANA Folding Table" (¥126,000 / scheduled for October release) and chair "BAPE X FABRICK NAGAISU" (¥152,000 / scheduled for August release) made from Andy Warhol's masterpieces, and the three-tiered box "BAPE X FABRICK ABC CAMO SQUARE SHELF" (¥23,100 / scheduled for August release). Many items featuring original fabrics by popular artists such as KENSEI YABUNO, Henrik Vibskov, Kim songhe, and GASIUS are also on display.
